It feels weird not to have a card for you guys here, but this Christmas was weird all the way around. At least this year I wasn't too psycho, but in order to achieve non-psycho-ness, it meant I kind of...forgot about it all together. Don't ask me how, and me working retail, too. It's the power of the mind!

I got the best stuff in the whole world! I'll tell you more about that later. You might get pics of me in X-mas jammies later, if I drink enough egg-nog. *beams*

it seems like the hits just keep on coming this holiday season. I read about the fire that damaged perclexed's home last night. She doesn't even know yet how much she's lost. But it doesn't look good.

I sent her some money via PayPal, I wish it could have been more. I hope it helps. If any of you can, her PayPal addy is perclexed at gmail.com. I've also dropped her a note offering that extra set of flatware I was telling you about earlier. I'll be happy to send it on to her if she needs it.

Also, Chris, thdancingferret has been back in the hospital again and is facing even more medical bills. I know it's a lot to ask, that money is tight for everyone this time of year, but even a couple of dollars helps. Believe me, I know. It's a hard choice to make between buying food and medicine or paying utilities and rent you know you need. Her PayPal addy is teufelce @ aol.com.

One of these days I'm going to win that darned lottery and, when I do, I'm setting up an emergency fund for stuff like this. There are enough of us here on lj that work in the financial field that I know we could come up with someone to govern it. Then we could just chip in when we could so it'd be there when it was needed.

This is an awful time of year to feel like your back is up against the wall. No time is a good time, but during the holidays it seems to bite even more.

Hi guys! Hope everyone is having a good evening. I'm pretty tired. I baked seven dozen cookies last night to make gift bags for all of mom's friends and the workers at her daycare. I divided them up and put them in small gift bags with a Christmas lollipop and some Hersey's kisses. Everyone seemed to like them so that was good. Mom got lots of good hugs out of the deal, too which was also great.

I got next to no sleep last night, though. Mom had a bad night, lots of bad dreams and increased confusion so I slept in her room to keep an eye on her. Today has been better but she's pretty wiped out from it. I'll have to keep a close eye on her to make sure she's not getting sick. That's usually what something like that means.

I had something neat happen today. Gerard, our home health aide that I have come in three times a week to help with getting mom ready in the morning, was in so I gave her the gift bag I'd made for her. It had the cookies, a small bag of coffee, the kisses and one extra thing. She had liked the heart bracelet and earring set I had posted with the sales stuff when I showed her the jewelry the other day. So, I wrapped them up last night and put them in her gift bag, too. She was really surprised, which was nice. She is such a sweet lady and I don't know what I'd do without her. Especially on the days I have more mobility problems myself. Then, later, when we'd gotten mom dressed and down to breakfast i went to pay her for her time this week since I won't have her in the next couple of days. She wouldn't let me pay her the $40.00 for this week. Said it was her present to us for Christmas. Pretty cool, huh?

Also, there's something I forgot to mention the other day. Part of the stuff that Sid sent us from Lee's mom was a 58 place setting flatware set from Gibson. It's stainless steel and has blue plastic handles. Here's a picture of what it looks like:

It's never been used and has its own tray. We don't need them as they don't match our dishes but I though that maybe one of you would like to have them. If so, they're yours just for the postage. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Friends, I've been wanting to post my story updates for, geez--kind of a long time, really! I had no idea how long it's been! I do have some stuff for Gone World and NTM, but I'm stuck in that "it's shit" mindset and I've been endlessly tinkering with them and at this point, I have no fucking idea if they're decent or not. Usually when it gets like this, I just post and hope for the best but I'm stuck like a stuck thing! I am also working on the Lucas/Lex story but I think I took it in the wrong direction so I'm trying to figure out how that's going to work too. I might call on someone to check it out for me.

I just don't know, friends, I just don't know.

You know what we need? we need lots of eggnog and chocolate chip cookies, that's what we need--or some stank nasty sex, not choosy.
